John Holthaus, Boys Varsity Community Coach

Coach Holthaus is in his 4th season with Walton LAX. He played high school lacrosse at Archbishop Spalding in Severna Park, MD, where he was a two-time All-County Honoree. He first played college lacrosse as a midfielder at Washington College in Chestertown, MD, making it to the DIII National Championship in 1986, and then played at Loyola College in Baltimore from 1987-1989.

Post College, John played professional indoor lacrosse for the Philadelphia Wings from 1990-1991, winning the MILL Championship in 1990. In 1992, he played for the MILL's Baltimore Thunder. His outdoor lacrosse experience includes the Greene Turtle Lacrosse Club in Baltimore, Atlanta Lacrosse Club (selected as Southeast Rep in North-South All Star game 1994), and the Buckhead Lacrosse Club.

He was assistant coach at Loyola under Dave Cottle (current coach at University of Maryland) where, in 1990, he coached in Loyola's only National Championship game appearance.

John and his wife, Kirsten, have 2 children and reside in East Cobb
